Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co. (AAW) announced the visit of Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Ferry Adamhar to Chairman and Managing Director of AAW, Faisal Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa, to enhance the ongoing Kuwaiti-Indonesian trade opportunities.

During the visit, Al-Mutawa and Adamhar spoke of several business prospects that could potentially expose the Kuwaiti private sector to beneficial business and expansion opportunities.

Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait, Ferry Adamhar said, “Indonesia has all the essentials to be a strategic business hub. We currently have governmental policies set to support the development and growth of several industries like the furniture industry, a consistent supply of various raw and natural material, skilled craftsmen and producers, a burgeoning domestic market and integrated export-import facilities.”

“By partnering with companies with a strong track-record such as AAW, we are certain we can grow business cooperation with Kuwait’s private sector for the benefit of both countries.”

AAW Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Faisal A. Al Mutawa said, “Indonesia is a fast moving emerging market with a sophisticated manufacturing industry. We are very honored by Mr. Admahar’s visit and for opening the door of business opportunities for AAW.”

Indonesia’s manufacturing production has been growing steadily at the end of 2013, and is expected to record more growth in 2014, with a growing furniture industry export value. This growth is expected to create opportunities for Kuwaiti companies to import good quality products with competitive prices from Indonesia.

As a first step, AAW will represent Kuwait amongst 110 other countries at the Indonesian International Furniture Expo taking place in Jakarta next month. AAW will present a full range of furniture and furnishing products to more than 5000 international buyers, as well as specialist traders, retailers, designers, architects, planners, joiners, carpenters and interior decorators.

Al Mutawa added: “We are always eyeing growth and expansion across all our business lines and seek to add more brands to our portfolio in order to better the life of our community every day.”

AAW has more than 80 years of retail history across several business lines that include consumer goods, furniture, home appliances, and pharmaceuticals to name a few, and represents over 100 global brands. Since its establishment, AAW distributes world-class products like Tide, Ariel, Clorox, Century Furniture, and other pharmaceutical products.

As one of Kuwait’s leading furniture supplier, AAW still owns and operates the largest furniture showrooms in the country dating back to the 1950s. They distribute over 25 brands like Kingsdown, Bassett, La-Z-Boy, Legacy, Craftmaster, and Lifestyle in the Kuwait market.
